currently includes 192 completed genomes
available from the NCBI FTP server.
This website incorporates only completed genomes and information pertinent to two-dimensional gel electrophoresis.

Search by the description of the protein.
Currently the search engine retrieves information based on the annotation data presented in the completed genome NCBI records.
In future versions annotation data from other databases will also be included.

Search for a sequence fragment within a complete genome sequence of a proteome.
This search engine allows the search by a sequence fragment of any length (even at a single amino acid level).
The database can be searched by a sequence pattern also. This allows the retrieval of proteins with potential
phosphorylation site, glycosylation site, etc. The pattern can be quite complex allowing any number of wildcards.
Currently the wildcards are fixed length.
Examples:
- retrieve all sequences that have the MK__EF___K consensus flagellar leader peptide
- retrieve all sequences that have a potential PKA site ([RK](2)-x-[ST])
|
|
|
Search by the Molecular weight and iso-electric point of the protein.
Examples:
- retrieve all sequences from Haemophilus influenzae that have MW between
10 - 130 kDa and pI between 8-12
